What we don't know

Here's a little something I read this morning that should remind us how important it is to be faithful in our study of the Word.  How can we share our faith when we don't understand it?  Now, I would be willing to bet that DBC would score higher than the average this post describes, but we can't let ourselves get lazy.  Our kids need to see how important the Scriptures are to our faith, that having a basic understanding of our culture and the religions around us is important when trying to connect with those around us, and that by entering that world we love those who need Christ.  Let's take up the Awana verse this morning and own it:

“Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
(2 Timothy 2:14–15 ESV)
