Whew! It is that time of year. Between Awana ceremonies, high school graduations, summer event planning, missions trips and all of the usual activities it is a very busy time. That is not a bad thing though because it is during these times that I’m reminded of the following passage, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil” (Eph 5:15-16). It is when things are busy that I am most aware of the fact that time is valuable. Once a minute has passed you can never get it back. You can’t store it up and earn interest on it. Therefore, on this side of eternity, we can either make the most of the time investing in the eternal or waste it on things that will never make it beyond this life. Notice one thing, I never said that we’re running out of time. Remember, we are eternal creatures and those who have placed their faith in Christ will never run out of time. We only risk missing the opportunity to take part in what God is doing around us when we waste it and that would be a huge tragedy.
